Where it All Began
Anju has been designing and making clothes since she was 16—first for herself, and then for her family. And wherever she went, someone would ask:
“Where did you get that from?”
Soon, people started asking if she could make something for them too.
With a lot of encouragement from her family, Anju finally took the leap.
And in 2023, at the age of 55, Ameera was born.
Because dreams don’t really care how old you are.
PS: Ameera means “princess” and “leader” — a name that just felt right for the women we create for.
Strong, graceful, and occasionally running the whole world before breakfast. 😭
At Ameera, we noticed something about our wardrobes.
We have the comfortable clothes we wear all the time.
And then we have the beautiful ones we save for “a special occasion.”
You know the ones.
The outfit you absolutely loved when you bought it, but now it’s been sitting in your wardrobe waiting for a wedding invitation. 😭
We thought, why can’t beautiful Indian craftsmanship be part of everyday life too?
So that’s what we try to create—clothes that are easy and comfortable enough to wear every day, but still carry the beauty of Indian handcraft.
What if Indian craft was your everyday?
That’s the thought behind Ameera.
We hope to preserve India’s beautiful craft traditions, support the skilled artisans behind them, and make clothes that make you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful.
Made for your everyday, not just your occasions.
Welcome to Ameera. ❤️
